The Council of UC Faculty Associations has joined with academic employee unions UAW and UC-AFT to collect information about the potential scale, and the detrimental effect, the University’s current funding crisis will have on research and teaching quality: Living Wages and Quality Education Survey.

We have observed that there is still a great deal of confusion and lack of communication from UCOP to campus administrators and from those administrators to their divisions and departments. With this survey, we are trying to crowdsource the basic information we need to ensure research and teaching quality. We cannot respond to UC’s efforts to diminish the grad and undergrad experience, and our own teaching and research lives if we are siloed in our departments, divisions, and campuses with no or partial information.
