CUCFA’s statement about AFSCME 3299’s new research report Pioneering Inequality: Race, Gender, and Income Disparities at the University of California:

“This report proves essential reading for anyone concerned with ongoing economic, racial and gender disparities in the UC system. We urge immediate attention to its recommendations. UC workers and contracted employees deserve better. The UC has the potential to be an engine of equality for California and the nation. Unfortunately, as this study shows, the university needs to address racial and gender disparities in pay within its ranks, and the State of California must work with UC to ensure that taxpayer dollars create opportunity not just for students but also for its workers.”
